Looks at the flawless sky
Knowing the weather determines his fate
A friend, an alibi
Playing his music is his stock in trade
A song for everyone
But will you be the one
Whose soul is touched
So deeply now

Stands on his pitch with guitar in his hands
The sun, beating down
Closing his eyes as the words leave his mouth
Tuned in, to the sound
Various people are listening now
The tips are in the jar
For a fine repertoire
He takes a bow
And thanks them all

The player is playing now
The people all wonder how
Their days have been changed
For the better now
Getting their smiles for free
Great for you and me
And then they walk on
To the rest of their day

A new group of passers by
More people to satisfy
The player keeps playing
To the watching eyes
And pictures are snapping
Finale! And clapping!
It’s time to move on
To a different pitch

End of the day and his fingers are sore
Picks up his bag and his case
Counting his blessings it’s been a good day
